Ginga Ethical was born from the desire to create a fun and nice way of inclusion with people with Down Syndrome.
Ginga Ethical was born from the desire to create a fun and nice way of inclusion with people with Down Syndrome.
Barbara is the founder of Ginga Ethical, a brasilian designer with two passions in her hands: design and people with down syndrome.
Her life experience with her younger brother Guiga, inspired her to find a way to highlight the qualities of ALL people with Down Syndrome. And use designing was the solution: That’s how Ginga Ethical was born.
People born with Down Syndrome are usually very similar in their behavior. They have an extreme genuine, cheerful, and sweet personality, that makes them irresistible. They also happen to be very organized and precise people. They love working and being treated equal to everyone else.
Ginga Ethical is design studio that represents the way of being of Down Syndrome in a nice and appealing way.
We use colors to represent their positive and joyful behavior and we draw nice and fun elements to bring a smile to your everyday life.
The motifs are created during workshops. The best designs are selected, adapted graphic-wise (colors & size) to better fit the product and finally printed.
The goals behind their participation in the creation process are mainly 2:
A small part of the designs on the T-shirt will be created by the Designer herself. It is very important that the Down Syndrome Collaborators and the Designer have their art placed in the same level.
Designing for Inclusion.
Our warehouse is located in Basel - Switzerland, in an association for Disabled people called Wohnwerk. Instead of hiring a regular warehouse company or building ourselves a warehouse, we decided to take this opportunity of inclusion also in the warehouse/storage system.
We designed together the best way to store our T-shirts: red boxes for women’s T-shirts and blue boxes for Men’s T-shirts. Indeed, each customer will receive a T-shirt with a dot in red or blue, because of this system.
We also added pictures and color codes to make the process more visual and simple for them.
Promote inclusion with your brand and have tailored designs for your products
